Ok real talk though because I need to know – iirc, BB didn’t actually lose the whole eye, it was just retinal scarring from muzzle flash??? Am I remembering incorrectly? I thought even Para-Medic mentioned it later but just watching the scene slowed down, the bullet never hits him but there’s a confusing amount of blood. This is obviously one of those “Kojima didn’t think too much about this so I shouldn’t either” situations but like jesus I need accuracy when I’m writing fic ok

The muzzle flash thing is what I’ve heard. Venom backs it up some: you get a good look at his milky-but-there eye in the mirror early on in the hospital scene, and what with all the other plastic surgery, they wouldn’t have left an obvious discrepancy like that. 

(Brought to you who got really excited over that confirming my this-guy-isn’t Big Boss theory early on, and then talking to a friend who told me the muzzle flash thing. BUT I STILL BELIEVED.) 

Yes! That’s what I was thinking, since Venom is convinced he’s BB so he’d wonder right away why the eye injury is different. Like I keep thinking about this also because I feel like Kaz would be the only one close enough to both of them to ever see them without the eyepatch, and I totally see him driving himself crazy wondering if the injury was just coincidentally replicated on V from the explosion or if they did something to him just for the sake of authenticity because I love suffering
