I mean of course Ocelot cares more than he lets on sometimes, just look at Kazās rescue mission, you so much as squirt him with the water pistol and Ocelot blows a fucking gasket and screams at you
And when you finally find Kaz at that outpost, Ocelot can barely hide the hope and excitement in his voice. āWait – is that..??ā
Or if you gently set Kaz down and move more than two meters away, Ocelot panics. āThatās Miller! You canāt just LEAVE HIM THERE!!!ā
And when Kaz has his outbursts, Ocelot is accidentally on purpose gentle with him, like with Quiet shooting at the helicopter blades, Ocelot just kind of delicately puts a hand on his shoulder to restrain him
Kaz is oblivious to his feelings and continues to hate him
Ocelot is Secretly Pining Over Kaz 2K16, whoās with me on this
Totally agree. Also when Venom brings Quiet to MB, after the cinematic Ocelot says āLeave Miller to meā. Heās the one who will handle Kazās anger instead of Venom.
My perverted ass just likes to imagine Kaz had Ocelot take the cane to his ass to help him clear his head a little
( ͔͔ ° Ķ Ź Ķ” °)Right at the beginning too, when Venom gets out of the hospital, Ocelot says something along the lines of how a man told him to rescue him, and then rescue the man himself, which is obviously Miller. Firstly, you can hear a sort of reverence in his voice when he says that, almost like heās in awe of him. Secondly, I guess you could argue that now that theyāve got Venom, Miller would become less vital to Diamond Dogs (not completely disposable obviously, more in the sense that Venom means they still have a commander and theyāre not going to fall apart just because Millerās gone) so losing him wonāt mean the end of Diamond Dogs, but Ocelot wonāt even consider leaving him, even though it means pushing an almost totally unproven Venom into a potentially very risky mission less than two weeks out of a nine year coma. I think there was a real risk of that mission going hideously wrong, but Miller would die a horrible death otherwise, and Ocelot couldnāt stand it
My favourite reason for replaying the Phantom Limbs mission is just listening to Ocelot keep stressing how important it is that Kaz is rescued right now immediately and just hearing his tone of voice as heās talking about him. And when you come up on
Ghwandaiand Ocelotās like āThatās it, thatās where theyāre holding Miller.Ā ā¦ā¦ā¦.I hope to hell heās alrightā or somesuch, and then he promptly follows up with a half-ass neutral thing to deflect like āā¦ā¦ā¦.Heās not your average client.ā Which is like. REALLY, OCELOT. NICE SAVE, YOUāRE NOT OBVIOUS AT ALL YOU COY KITTEN.
Also I like to think that when Ocelot went after Miller before the Shadow Moses incident, he had an emotional breakdown the moment he saw him and couldnāt go through with killing him, so he helped him fake his death instead, mostly as a ruse to fool Liquid. Neurotoxins like tetrodotoxin have capabilities of inducing a coma that mimics death, and so while Kaz is in that weird catatonic state where heās vaguely aware of whatās going on around him but is paralyzed and canāt move or speak, Ocelot takes all the necessary precautions to ensure he survives the poisoning and confesses how he feels about him while heās keeping him stable.
Kaz doesnāt remember any of it when he finally recovers. T_T

Your headcannons give me life
I also think that Ocelot helped Kaz fake his death, no way he could had killed him ;__;(ā ā^āįØā^ā ā)
Was it one of you guys who was recently saying how the animosity between Ocelot and Kaz seems pretty one-sided on Kazās part? Cause I noticed that too, and itās a very interesting thing. All their bickering tends to be on the impersonal side, too; more āthat idea/decision is terribleā, surprisingly littleĀ āthat idea is terrible and you are an asshole.ā Itās funny how Ocelot, the guy we know from MGS1 as Blackhat McBackstab, ends up coming across as having a muted compassionate side. It would be fascinating to see more of how they interact as Kaz calms down from being preoccupied with revenge and hating everything. I can definitely see Ocelot as the one whoād be inclined to offer an olive branch.
Or cane. I am 100% down with that, too (āļ¾āļ¾)ā
(Also, if you happen to, say, be an idiot and jump down something too high while carrying Miller so you drop him, Ocelot gets hilariously mad. Donāt ask how I know this.)Ā
Haha yeah, that was me. Iāve been compulsively replaying missions over and over so that I can revisit really subtle details for when Iām writing fic, and itās something that became really conspicuous after multiple playthroughs. Itās also really interesting to see how toned down Ocelotās gotten since MGS3, like he seems almost humbled. I touched upon the weird one-sided dynamic between them a little in my last fic, but Iām definitely revisiting it a lot more in the future. Thereās just so much delicious potential for suffering there.
Toned-down Ocelot was sad in some ways, because I love him being a big goofy theatrical dork, but also interesting because you get to see thereās a quieter human side along with all the supervillain drama.Ā
But really I just wanted to say that dang, that was a good fic. Really made the dynamic between them feel right, and that is a hard, hard thing to do.Ā
omg thank youuuu (//ā//)
It was honestly one of the most challenging things Iāve written, it took me months to perfect Ocelotās āvoiceā and how he relates to Kaz without being super OOC
I mean of course Ocelot cares more than he lets on sometimes, just look at Kaz’s rescue mission, you so much as squirt him with the water pistol and Ocelot blows a fucking gasket and screams at you
And when you finally find Kaz at that outpost, Ocelot can barely hide the hope and excitement in his voice. “Wait – is that..??”
Or if you gently set Kaz down and move more than two meters away, Ocelot panics. “That’s Miller! You can’t just LEAVE HIM THERE!!!”

They’re not friends. But they need to get used to coexisting.
A glimpse at what Revolver Ocelot and Kazuhira Miller got up to while the Snakes were sleeping.
Almost 10,000 words of explicit Ocelhira trash with a side of suffering.Ā
Ha – and look at that, this would be the second time Iāve been the first to introduce a new kink to the MGS fandom. This is probably my greatest life achievement tbh

ASS EATERRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Do you ever wonder if the Miller/Ocelot rivalry is one-sided? Like Kaz isnāt exactly subtle about how much he hates Ocelot, but I donāt think Ocelot hates or even dislikes Kaz. I feel like heās very guarded and sometimes defensive around him because of how hostile Kaz always is toward him, but I think Ocelot actually cares a lot about Kaz and canāt really show it because he knows just how much Kaz hates him. Just pay close attention to the beginning, when Ocelot is debriefing Venom right after he rescues him from the hospital. He sounds borderline protective, even marginally plaintive and worried, and keeps stressing urgency in how important it is that we get Kaz the fuck out of there right now.
Also I think about what they got up to while V and BB were asleep, like itās very clear that they worked together for an undisclosed amount of time before Venom came to MB. Iām pretty sure there was some hate sex and some serious BDSM that went on, but I think Ocelot might have genuinely started enjoying intimacy with Kaz while Kaz only saw him as an object and a distraction.
And then at the end where theyāre discussing BBās plan and how one will have to kill the other, Ocelot sounds pretty dejected and like he genuinely doesnāt want it to come to that, like heās trying to talk Kaz down and maybe make one last attempt at being something resembling friends, but Kaz is pretty staunchly like fuck off. So you can imagine how difficult it must have been when Ocelot finally goes to kill Master Miller. Or that Ocelot simply canāt do it and just ends up helping Kaz fake his death.
***also fuck he was holding on to Kazās sunglasses for hell knows how long and knew the importance of getting them back to him I mean jesus come the fuck on
idk I just like the idea of Ocelot being secretly heartbroken over two one-sided romances and developing that cocky attitude as a defense mechanism for how much heās pining over men who will never see him the way he wants them to
