Anon requested more bbkaz (im taking you meant venomkaz) Kaz was talking so much while Venom was rescuing him ;A;
Almost everyday I still think about how Ocelot had Kaz’s sunglasses on him that entire time after Kaz was captured, right up to the point where he sent Venom off to go rescue him and I just get so shook
Please note that I’m ESL and I’m still learning Japanese. Translations may not be100% accurate but I’m trying my best.
Kaz character page 1:
“Kaz is the future Master Miller who is introduced at first. If we talk about Master Miller, it comes to my mind the image of him during the MGS radio comms, it’s a strong image, isn’t it? I designed him based on his well-known look: hair swept back and all-black sunglasses. Although, his personality is quite playful/mischievous. He has drooping eyes when he takes his sunglasses off, which makes him kind of cute? I wanted to include that kind of image.”
Kaz character page 2:
Shinkawa: “There was already a model (for Kaz), it was easy to draw since I didn’t have a blurry image of him.” (I think he refers it was easy to imagine this version of kaz since the mgs1 version already existed.)
“I got the idea of including the color yellow somewhere in the support characters of MGS PW, and just when I was drawing Kaz I thought I could use a yellow neckerchief.”
Kaz character page 3:
Shinkawa · These rough sketches show the character’s expressions on various settings. What kind of expression does he make in certain situation? I imagined them and drew them.
These drawings are a part of all the rough sketches I drew in order to solidify the image of Kaz.
Kaz character page 4:
This was drawn by Uchiyama based on the established drawing’s model. Since I drew the illustration with fude (writing brush), it may end up being vague/ambiguous when modelling it, but when I passed my drawing to her, she arranged the lines. That way, we kept a fluid work.
Note that Shinkawa is talking about Chihoko Uchiyama.
Concept artist who worked as a character designer since MGS3 alongside Shinkawa. Her work consistes primarily of adapting Shinkawa’s designs into model sheets for 3d graphic designers.
I saw a model that looked like how I imagined young Kaz would look. I drew Kaz in his pose. I decided to set it in Costa Rica because why not. I ended up spending entirely too long on Costa Rican plants.
He’s going to jump up because he sees a centipede or something and then Big Boss is going to rescue him by eating it.
