Banshee S03E08: All the Wisdom I Got Left

Is anyone there? …Oh, looks like you’ve been down here quite some time.

They worked you over real good.
…Always be prepared.

Don’t worry. I’m not gonna hurt you.

I’m not gonna hurt you. I’ll cut you loose. …Just take your time. I’ll be right back.

Let’s go.

…I saved one for you. Come on, let’s go.

Banshee S03E08: All the Wisdom I Got Left

You’re violating our agreement with Frazier and selling to the Salvadorans.
// Yes. //

Your uncle won’t like that.

// Then don’t tell him.

It can be our secret.

And in the end…he’ll thank us for it. [gasps]

I’m not going to tell him.

It should come from you.

My favourite part about this whole scene is that when she moves in and it’s obvious what she’s going to do, he doesn’t try to stop her or react with shame or anger, he knows what she’ll find (or not find) and he just lets her go through with it and stonewalls her the entire time. I feel like this alone is a really deep insight to Burton’s character, and how his motivations are so different than that of most people and he doesn’t see this aspect of him to be shameful or deficient, it doesn’t define who he is and he’s more or less indifferent to it.

The thing I loved most about these two is that Rebecca is the type of person who merely uses sex as a tool or a means to an end, and Burton is castrated and asexual/aromantic in general so they’re basically immune to one another. Which is why they would have made such a great team and why it’s bullshit that he ended up killing her in the end.

You won’t be selling your produce in Banshee anymore.

You won’t be selling your produce… anywhere.

One of the most gratifying scenes ever, imo. Proctor’s a thug, no doubt, but this action was totally justified. The Amish community didn’t give a fuck about Rebecca, or Kai for that matter, and shunned them both out of self-righteous bullshit, so they really have no claim to either one of them.

What’s especially rich is how holier-than-thou they always were toward Kai and his questionable business dealings, how even when he was willing to help them, they literally turned their backs on him, refused to speak to him or acknowledge his existence, and only now that they need to save face and act like they actually gave a fuck about Rebecca are they willing to accept his shady back room deals to get him to release Rebecca’s body from the coroner. “You can fix this,” really, assholes? So his intimidation tactics and bribes are actually acceptable when it’s convenient for you? Go fuck yourselves.

They got everything they deserved. Sanctimonious asswipes.

Also: Clay Burton is a fucking boss. Slay, you glorious bastard. I like how he just….tossed the chainsaw on the side of the road, as if those things are disposable and don’t cost a lot of money
