tbh I honestly had no idea people were still reading and it’s awesome to know that you guys enjoy it. I also just kinda realized that vkaz/mkaz is a bit of a rarepair, so obviously that pairing isn’t going to get a whole lot of traffic. Knowing that makes it a lot less discouraging. I should have a chapter 4 up within the foreseeable future, I’m just not sure exactly how soon because I’m also working on an ME:A fic and a standalone mkaz fic (which was honestly originally going into Broken Adonis, but I decided to take all the hard kink outtakes and turn them into individual fics lol).

I’m not sure why I eventually decided on Ronan. I know I spent a lot of time deliberating on multiple baby name websites trying to find something that I thought was fitting. I think it was mostly based on the backstory I made for him and how his parents were Welsh and his mother was an opera singer, and my thought process was “what’s something a Welsh opera singer would name her son?” combined with “what’s something that’s robust and heroic that can also be affectionately shortened?” Ronan was what eventually won out in the end. =D

Hey same anon and it’s okay. I understand and I really admire and appreciate all the hard work you fanfiction writers do. You are so talented and you deserve more credit and love that you actually receive. I was just rereading your fic again and gosh my poor Kaz. The way you describe how much he suffered in Afghanistan it really hurt. Broke my heart. But you really did an awesome job. I will wait patiently for the next chapter. Miss already Ronan and Kaz. :) they are so cute together.

I do intend to continue it eventually. I actually go back and at least make an attempt to work on it pretty regularly, I just kinda……..stopped being motivated because nobody really seemed interested and I got so little feedback :((( But I’ll always be in love with mkaz and I can’t stay away from those two losers for very long, so the fic is definitely not dead. I’ve got like 2100 words of chapter four written at the moment, I just don’t know the time frame on when I’ll update ~~because writing is hard~~

You know what I noticed about that green smiley face pin on Vaclav Koller? Looks a lot like the logo for The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod, which is a young adult series of vampire books.

HMM INTERESTING IT KINDA DOES but yeah it turns out it’s the Polycount logo, which like… right after I made that post I started seeing that logo in a lot of other games since a lot of devs like to throw it in as a sort of easter egg I guess? But yeah I hc that the prostitute from the game was a graphic designer before the aug incident and now he gives those little pins out to his best clients 😏

Not really tbh. I just think South Africans are cool and that they have badass accents and that’s just what comes to mind when I think of a rugged, gritty mercenary :p Also I think I’d been watching Neill Blomkamp films over and over at the time I thought up that headcanon and just thought “yo what if Kruger from Elysium was female” and then somewhere out of that, my version of Nadine was born. Except, you know, she’s not working for the oppressors but is a ruthless sonofabitch because she’s all about revenge against the Bad Guys.

Also I felt that her being South African would kind of fit in to the Peace Walker timeline and the general narrative. I haven’t expounded on this in any of my fics yet, but a little spoiler for her backstory is that she joined MSF after quitting SAP, which she’d joined in 1972 when they hired their first female officers. She really didn’t like the orders coming down from the upper brass or having to enforce apartheid bullshit, so the moment she caught wind of MSF, she got the hell out of dodge and went to mercenary work. I also figured it’d be a fitting ~bonding moment~ for her and Kaz later on because there wasn’t a lot of advancement opportunities for women in the police force back then, and Kaz would be able to empathize because of his similar experiences with JSDF.
